Coach A: About Marc Anderson

Marc is a certified Mental Game Coach who works with individual athletes, coaches, and teams on sports performance enhancement. He earned his B.A. in sociology at Beloit College and his Masters of Social Work at George Williams College of Aurora University. Marc is a seasoned clinician with over 20 years of experience of working with athletes and non-athletes in both the private and public sector. His philosophy is athlete-centered; empowering athletes to conquer the mental challenges that are hindering their peak potential. Marc's clinical expertise, combined with his extensive experience as a high school coach and collegiate athlete, allows him to equip athletes with mental strategies and skills to maximize their mental edge and improve their performance in competition while maintaining balance in their lives.

Marc, a.k.a “Coach A” is known by his players and athletes for his laid back and approachable style. He has a talent for teaching, his patience, and, most importantly, his understanding of the athlete psyche enables him to offer one of the most unique and effective mental game coaching programs around. His success as an athlete and as a coach is a testament of his ability to apply the mental concepts he teaches, to help athletes reach their peak performance, to help teams function better, and to help coaches maximize their players optimal potential. In 2004, Marc was interviewed by the Naperville Sun for an article on Pressures of High School Athletes.

Marc played basketball at Beloit College, where he was a four-year letter winner. In high school he received all-conference honors and honorable mention all-state in basketball. In addition, he received unanimous all-conference honors as a wide receiver and defensive back in football. Marc has also coached varsity football and basketball at a high school in the western suburbs of Chicago. He studied and received his mental coaching certification training under Dr. Patrick Cohn at Peak Performance Sports. Dr. Cohn is considered one of the leading sports psychology experts in the country.
