How does Mental Game Coaching work?
The first step in mental coaching is to identify your mental game
strengths and weaknesses. The athlete is administered an Athlete Mental
Aptitude Profile or AMAP. This assessment tool serves as a guideline towards
developing a complete picture of their mental game, regardless of the specific
sport or performance.
Once the athlete grasps the basic concepts
and skills, the application plan of the mental game coaching starts. This is
where I help you apply what you learned in the sessions to your
sports performance. I will help you integrate mental skills into regular
practice and performance routines.
Finally, the follow-up phase of mental coaching helps you apply what you've
learned on a consistent basis. I assist athletes to stay committed to sound
thinking and maintaining a positive attitude until their positive mindset
becomes second nature and habitual. The best results of mental coaching come
from long term application of mental training as you apply the skills day after
day.
